Winsor Pilates

Moms View Message Board: Let's Get Fit! (Weight Loss Support Group): Winsor Pilates

I don't check in much anymore, but just wanted to share my experience with Winsor Pilates. My DH gave me a complete set for Christmas that I've been using since about the end of January. WOW! This was my first experience with Pilates and it is incredible! I've just about done it all as far as exercise goes, and although this is not a cardio workout, it is amazing in re-shaping your body. I feel like I'm working muscles that never get worked in other exercise programs (tae-bo, aerobics, treadmill, bowflex, step). My body feels so strong and I have really focused on my legs and see the most results there. You can't NOT focus on your abs with Pilates and it seems that "bump" right below your belly button that is just impossible to flatten is almost gone after one week.

I just wanted to share for anyone who might be interested or who is wondering about Pilates. I have this set:

Sorry! I don't know how to link it.
Hope this helps someone! :)

Deanna, I have the 6 or 8 DVD set of this, plus that circle thing. I haven't used them. Previously I owned the VHS set and I DID use that. Pilates are great for people like me, with back and spine issues, since it focuses on core strength and builds strong, lean muscle.

Maybe I need you to motivate me???? I *really* need to get moving on this.

OH - and here is your LINK

I can't believe what this (in particular) has done for my legs. I'm a smaller woman and my problem area has always been my legs because I'm shorter (5'2"). I tend to get heavier in the legs if I don't stay on top of it. The Pilates has NOTICEABLY "lengthened" my legs by just making everything look more slender. My waist/tummy have always been flat, but I've noticed a bit of a pooch since Natalie was born and the emphasis on the stomach just blows me away. I just have so many good things to say about!

Go Karen go! It really makes your body FEEL strong. Thanks for the link, too...that one was a bear!

My sister loves them, but I have several exercise tapes and can't convince myself to spend any more money on that area until I do the ones I have. Sad huh?

I'm glad you are both having such success with them. Go Ladies!

I know what you mean. I have a new TaeBo set of DVD's that I haven't even attempted yet because I'm downright SCARED of falling on the floor in a panting heap. I used to do it years ago when it first became popular and really liked it, but now....hmmmmm, it might be a sad display!

I am so glad you posted this. I was thinking about purchasing this after seeing it on tv. I was looking for something that wouldn't be too hard on my back because I have back issues too.
