How long for Cardio

Moms View Message Board: Let's Get Fit! (Weight Loss Support Group): How long for Cardio
By Nicosmom on Sunday, August 29, 2004 - 02:54 pm:

I usually do the Elliptical machine at the gym for about 35 minutes, at least twice a week. Is 35 minutes long enough? I want to concentrate on losing body fat.

I've heard that 30 minutes should be done for cardio health but that 45-60 minutes should be done to be losing weight and/or burning fat. I don't know if that applies to the Elliptical machine because I know it burns more calories than the treadmill and stationary bike. Good luck!

I have a friend that has been seeing a personel trainer. He said that you have to do 45-60 minutes of cardio 5 days a week for it to really be effective in weight/body fat loss. I don't know if this is true or not, but this is what he told her.
