Dh sabotaging me?!?

Moms View Message Board: Let's Get Fit! (Weight Loss Support Group): Dh sabotaging me?!?

I've been doing pretty well except for one day (*g*) so far. So what's dh do yesterday? Comes home with a dozen donuts, including an apple fritter--my favorite!!! ARGH!!! THEN, he wants Pizza Hut for dinner. DOUBLE ARGH!!! He KNOWS I'm trying to lose weight. I even told him the other day NOT to buy donuts. :( So yesterday wasn't the greatest, sorry to say. I didn't go nuts, but I didn't do very well, either. Today is a new day and I WILL do better. I could just slap him. We're going grocery shopping tonight and I'm going to do my homework and stock up on healthy, low or no point foods. I'll tell him if he wants junk to take it to work. *sigh*

At least my water consumption is up. :)

I understand this it's like they don't care sometimes...when i say something about not getting treats at the store it seems like they go get them anyways and bring them home i guess we have to be stronger than the food lol which isn't easy sometimes...oh well we can do it and good for you starting over today= ) have a great day everyone...

I would have had him by the throat!!! There are plenty of times we both decided to splurge, but luckily we're trying to lose weight together, so we keep the junk away.

Cat, let me know what you are stocking up on, I haven't had much time to put together a shopping list that is points friendly, so we've been living off SmartOnes this week, while the kiddos are gone.

For meals, chicken (breasts, no skin) is a great and versatile main dish. We had bbq chicken sandwiches. Four ounces of chicken plus the bbq sauce I *think* equals about 5 points. I love chicken on salads. I hard boiled some eggs for low point (2) snacks and to add to salads for protein. I picked up 100 calorie popcorn snack bags (2 points), Quaker rice cakes (I *think* 1 point each), and some WW carrot cakes (1 point). From what I read salsa doesn't have any points so you can add that to whatever you want for flavor (potatoes, burgers, eggs, etc). I did get some Boca burgers (2 points instead of 6, no bun) and the Wonder Light wheat bread (1 point per 2 slices). Also some pita pockets (1 point per 1/2) that I'll add a little ham (3 slices, 2 points), turkey (breast, 5 slices, 1 point), lettuce, cucumbers or dill pickles and some Italian spritzer dressing (all free) for a yummy 4-5 point lunch. For breakfast's I have Fiber One (0), oatmeal (old fashioned, 2), eggs (2 each) that I can add veggies to for an omelet) and I'm going to get some Nutra Grain low fat waffles (1 each) that I can put unsweetened applesauce on (1 pt per 1/2 cup) OR smash up some raspberries (1 pt per cup) or whatever fruit you want for pretty low points. I have to admit I stocked up on lots of Smart Ones and Lean Cuisine because when I'm feeding kids during the week it's SO easy for me to pop one in the microwave while I feed them lunch or even after when they go down for naps. The biggest problem I'm having right now is all the junk that's in my house because of the holidays and dh bringing it here! I'm going to have to talk to him about that. *gr*

I hope this helps some. I've still got lots to learn. :)

Cat, how about saying "I'm not accusing you, but I want you to know that I *feel* like you're trying to sabotage me when you bring home donuts and want to eat at Pizza Hut, when you know I'm on a diet. I really wish you wouldn't do it. I understand that you're not on a diet, but I am, so I'm asking that you keep the donuts and other fat-creating foods for eating at the office or away from me. Can you do that? "

Ginny, we had to run to the grocery store today and I did talk to dh. He even said he'd like to lose about 20lbs but he's too lazy! lol So I guess it's up to me to make sure we have healthy meals and snacks and I did ask him not to bring junk into the house so much. He seemed impressed that I've lost 6lbs already (I know the first couple weeks of a diet are water weight and that it will slow down). I'm also sure I'll have to remind him frequently about the junk food. :)
