Excerpt:
"...After drinking approximately 17 ounces of water, the subjects' metabolic rates -- or the rate at which calories are burned -- increased by 30% for both men and women..."

sigh....I am drinking 80oz a day, seeing a difference in my energy levels (esp if I don't drink my water) but no difference in my weight.

I've heard too that water helps increase your metabolism. I will have to check that article out. I think I will up the water intake myself, I strongly believe in drinking alot of water. 80oz is alot, good for you, I'm going to try to drink that much today.....Oh my that will be tough.

I drink a little over 1/2 of my body weight well it's actually quite a bit more now since i've lost weight but when i was 191 i decided i would just go ahead and drink 100 oz. now i'm 174 and i still try to drink that sometimes i go over now though which is good.I don't see much progress with weight loss but i'm not going back to the packed with calories sodas or anything else water is my choice of drink now and slowly is becoming my husbands = )

Wow. good for you Brandy. Almost 20lb lost! I need to lose 20lbs. Since ds was born I haven't been able to drop much weight and I have been trying. I am 174 right now....Heaviest I've ever been...I thought 157 was heavy when I got pregnant (use to be 140 145) I would do anything to be 157 right now. I am 5'6 so....Oh the dillema to lose weight! You've motivated me today to do my workout...I was going to take a break today....
