Has anyone ever been on this program? If so, how did you do with it and did you like it? I started on it at the end of March and have been doing very well with it. I have lost 48lbs in the last 15 weeks and, for me, it has been easy to follow. I didn't post earlier because I have tried so many diets and programs without much luck and I wanted to see how I did with it before telling anyone. Anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone else has done this program and had luck with it.

Wow that is amazing. What kind of diet is it?

(Low Carb or low fat?)

By Jenn on Saturday, July 12, 2003 - 08:55 am:

Congratulations on your weight loss!! That is truly amazing. Is this the low carb diet? If so, then yes I have heard of this. If I gain a lot with this pregnancy, I will be doing this program.

It's low carb, low fat, and low sodium. It's nothing like Adkins or Protein Power or anything like that. I tried those and they didn't work for me. It took a couple of weeks to get used to, but it's been great since then. I have so much more energy and my blood pressure went from 140/90 to 110/70 which is really good because I have a blood condition which makes my blood too thick and raises my blood pressure in the process. I still get some carbs - two a day. I get two servings of lean meat a day (chicken, veal, turkey, lots of different types of seafood, fish and beef twice a week). Then I get four veggie servings a day and three fruits. I am never hungry and I have a hard time eating it all that I'm supposed to sometimes, but if I don't eat enough I won't lose. Oh, and I also have two protein suppliments a day that actually taste really good. I also drink 8-10 glasses of water and I can have coffee or tea or diet sodas (except no colas) in addition to my water if I like. The low sodium part was the hardest. I had to learn different ways of seasoning things to cut out most of the salt and when we eat out I have to order everything without seasonings, but I'm used to the taste of the actual food now and I don't mind. I have even quit eating salad dressing on my salads because I like them without it better (I am allowed salad dressings, but I have to watch the sodium). My dh and dks usually eat what I eat and I only end up cooking something different for them a couple times a week because they still like things like spaghetti and garlic bread and that's definitely not on my diet. LOL

Thought I'd post an update on me. I am now down 55lbs. I got stuck at the 50lb loss mark for a month because of ball games, parties, and vacations and kept gaining and losing the same three pounds, but I kept plugging away and I am on my way down again. Dh noticed that I have ribs again last night and I promised him that I would be down to the size I was when we got married by our anniversary so I have 15 lbs to go by Oct 2nd. Wish me luck!

By Feona on Friday, August 22, 2003 - 05:00 pm:

Wow! That is really an accomplishment.

Great job! It is so nice when others notice the changes. KEEP IT UP

Thanks ladies!

Good for you!!! It is so hard to loose that much weight. You should be really proud of yourself!!

My sister and daughter are planning on doing this diet together. My sister and I had done this diet years ago with great success. We're trying to remember everything but we're a little confused about the egg servings. How many eggs can you have per week? How often can you eat them? If you only eat one egg for breakfast does that count as a protein serving? How are eggs worked into the QWLC diet? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

Wow! Good for you! Now that you are two days away from your goal date, how did those last 15 lbs go?

By Texiegirlcg on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 - 02:31 pm:

I hope no one minds but since this seems to be a pretty inactive board I think a group of us doing QWLC all together might kinda take it over. If anyone objects let me know...

Tunnia, did you make it down to your goal weight? Where did you find this diet? Did you go to the doctor, diet clinic, or online to find it?

By Tunnia on Monday, October 13, 2003 - 11:16 am:

No, I haven't made it yet, but I'm still working at it. I missed my short term goal (to be at the weight I was when I got married by our 10th anniversary) by about 10lbs, but I was thrilled to get close. My plan is to be at my ultimate goal by the first of April, but I need to work a little harder. I am still following the diet most of the time, but the fair, festivals, parties, and family dinners have sabatoged me lately and I have "cheated". I haven't gained any weigh back, but my loss has stalled. I am keeping a positive outlook though and I'm not beating myself up over it because I know that this is a slow process and I am confident that I will eventually get there.

My Mom heard a commercial on the radio for Quick Weight Loss Centers and asked me to go with her so I did. She is finished the program a week ago and she cheated a lot and still went from a size 12 to a size 6-8 since the beginning of April this year. I have more weight to lose and also I do not exercise like my Mom does so it's taking me a little longer. The thing that I am really impressed with is how easy the diet is to follow and the fact that you learn the proper way to eat. Unlike Atkins, no foods are off limits forever although some are during the weightloss phase (I'm not putting Atkins down, I just failed at it because I couldn't give up certain foods for the rest of my life). After you reach your goal weight you then go to maintanece where you are taught how to eat everything, but in proper portions and proper frequency. They teach you that while you can eat macaroni and cheese, you can't eat a huge pile of it and you can't eat it every day.

I hope that anwers your questions.:)

So how are you doing now?

By Momaroze on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 - 05:40 pm:

Interesting, I have never heard of this diet. I hate that word diet. Anyways, I was thinking of trying Atkins. I don't think I will succeed with it though. Giving up that many carbs seems too much. I haven't ruled it out yet though. This QWLC sounds really good. I would like to hear more about it? Thanks. I have not had much luck with diets in my time either? hmmmm I can do the exercise but the eating thing is where I fall I'm betting.

That last ten pounds are the worst to get off. Don't give up. Slow and easy win the race.
