Sibling Squabbles

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Sibling Squabbles

Argh! My ds (7) and dd (6) bicker constantly! It's like they make up things to argue about. At this point my 3 yr old dd is still left out of it. They push, shove, name call and argue about who got what plate, spoon, even when they are the same! Time outs, no video games other privileges being taken away doesn't work. They used to get along so well, before they got to be school age. We spend time with the kids one on one and do things as a family as much as possible. They drive me nuts with the bickering! Thanks for letting me vent.

My kids have had their moments, when it seemed they couldn't stand the sight of the other one and then other times, they could work or play together, like nobody's business. It just always cycled from one extreme to another! I don't really have any advice, though.

I don't have any advice, either. My 13 and 11 year olds have had a horrible relationship for a few years. The 13 year old is so mean to her sister. The 10 year old is pulled in both directions, and pretty much gets along with everyone. Thank goodness for that, because they other 2 make me nuts with their fighting!!
