Just coming here to "let it out!"

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Just coming here to "let it out!"

I'm ready for the loony bin about 9 months sooner than I remember needing a loony bin w/ DD.

DS is driving me CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't even type that loud enough. He is into EVERYTHING and climbing on top of EVERYTHING, and never a safe place for climbing. I can't go anywhere in the house and leave him alone. The baby safe room is no longer safe as he climbs on top of couch to pass thru window into kitchen area. Really not safe. Or climbs on top of the small railing on the bench belonging to our dinner table. I already moved two other pieces of furniture that he was climbing and sitting on. Did I mention I found him sitting ON the bird cage? And let him out in the main house??? Forget it. All the doors that can open he does open. If the garbage has something in it, he will take it out. If there is anything he can hold he will, breakable or not. I already spent over $100 2 wks ago getting gates and locks and whatevers and I still have more to do. And DH wonders what I do all day! I take this child off of something all day long only to do it again and again.

And eating. He won't eat the same thing twice. So I never know what to feed him. He will live off of bananas and crackers if I would let him....hold on the kitchen sink was just turned on...aghhh, he figured out the sprayer!!!!!!!!!!

I'm back, I am soaked, he is soaked the kitchen is soaked and he is screaming because I returned him to the playpin where he has been spending a lot of time lately. And can you please tell me how not to laugh when you see something so agrivating as a baby w/ the sprayer nozzle in a large puddle and aiming at you!? How is a mom to discipline.

okay, I'm going to drink a glass of water while he is in the pin. I can't wait for bed time.

I'm on the other end...no climbing and into everything, just bossy and wants her way. Just think, someday when they're gone we'll be wishing we had these days back!
Hang in there! Somedays, kiddo bed time is the best time of day:)

Wow. I can't even imagine!!
How old is your son? In your profile it says 4 months?????
It's no wonder so many mothers are alcoholics! LOL!

LOL, Mrsheidi. As of yesterday he is the ripe old age of 16 months. Guess I should go update my file. :)

Wow, he sounds active! Little dd is 13 months old and we have gates everywhere and a play-yard, but she is really only beginning. i can tell she wants to explore, and if I take the gates down, she follows me everywhere. She doesn't sound as active as your ds though. I guess that is the age when you have to start channeling their energy into something. I've also been told that it helps to have a schedule for active kids and stick with it. ex. 9-10 playtime, 10-11 -quiet time to watch a video of his choice. 11-?-nap, etc. Also, this may be a good time to look into a daycare even if it is just one or two days a week or 2 half-days so that he can interract with other kids and you can get stuff done at home. I bet he would come back exhausted! Just a thought. ((((hugs))))

My kids weren't climbers. I just remember that when Sarah was between 2-1/2 and 3 and starting to outgrow her afternoon nap, that she would get into mischief in her room, since she wasn't sleeping.

One time she had fun spraying powder out of the powder container and another time, pulled all the diapers out of a nearly full bag!

Dana, sounds like a busy time at your house right now. I think it's normal for kids to get on eating jags, though, where they only want to eat just a few things.

Sandysmom, we had a great schedule before summer time happened. I still try to keep to it, but you know things never stay the same for long.

Our trips out this last week came to a hault after my car was hit, so I guess the pressure of all that and just being stuck at home is adding up on all of us.

BTDT, especially with not having a car to do things. As far as a schedule, I'm the worst for keeping a schedule. (((((hugs))))
