Looking For Specific Movie Reviews For DD

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Looking For Specific Movie Reviews For DD

I've tried all the usual sites for ratings, but I can't find any specific, detailed ratings for Ghostbusters for KIDS. Anyone know of any, or remember enough about this movie to tell me? I assume the profanity will be sky high and perhaps the sexual content as well.

It's been too long since I saw the movie. Sorry. The thing I remember the most if the Puff Marshmallow guy at the end. I saw it for the first time, when I was in my mid-20's and I didn't have any kids yet, so it wasn't a big concern for me.

The IMDb has it as PG, I remember there being some adult content, but when I saw it as a kid I didn't "get" the more adult stuff. I don't think th profanity was particularly bad. It's a 22 year old movie (HOLY CRAP!!) so, it's been a while.

Beware that the ratings were different back then. We watched Short Circuit (PG - 1986) with the kids this weekend and there was a lot of swearing, much more than my kids are used to. I don't remember that being an issue when DH and I first watched it 20 yrs. ago, but we didn't have kids back then. LOL!

I asked my DH this morning. He doesn't remember anything sexual, or any profanity. I can't say that I do, either. Now we'll have to rent it!

What I mostly remember is the guys looking for ghosts, with the funny packs on their backs. I remember more scary creepy stuff, from the ghosts.

I just caught the end of this the other day. I think one of the unappropriate scenes would be the lady getting possessed. She was floating about her bed, several comments made, etc. Depends on the ages of your kids, I would probably let my 10 and 12 year old watch it, the 10 year old is very mature, but not my 8 year old.

It DOES have sexual content. See Ghostbusters review for a very brief description. I remember being uncomfortable with the content in a few scenes.

There is a scene where Dan Akroyd has a sexual encounter with a ghost. You see his belt being undone and hear him moaning.

Thanks everyone. We will definitely skip it!! Not for my ten year old! She won't be happy, but oh well!

Oh yeah. I remember that now.

I am glad you posted this because I was thinking about renting it for my kids this weekend.
