Healthy Cookies?

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Healthy Cookies?
By Heaventree on Friday, February 17, 2006 - 01:53 pm:

Yup I think so. I just posted a recipe on the the cooking board for these cookies: Oatmeal Raisin Pecan cookies. I omitted the nuts and raisins and added chocolate chips instead.

They are made with rolled oats, whole wheat flour and wheat germ. They taste amazing.

I'm always looking for "healthier" snacks than store bought stuff and I love cookies. I found this recipe in a Diabetes Cook Book, even though no one here has Diabetes, I love the cookbooks because they are usually based on a healthy diet and are low glycemic which is great for weight loss.

They also have a recipe for Two-Tone Chocolate Orange Biscotti, which I can't wait to try.

I'll have to try these. They sound good. Dried cranberries would be a good substitution as well.

I LOVE biscotti. How did it come out?

Colette, I haven't tired the biscotti yet, I might try to get to it on the weekend. You have to try these cookies though, they are amazing. I can't stop eating them.

Cranberries would be great Paula, thanks for that!
