I am have been so frustrated the past few nights! My DD has decided that she will no longer sleep thru the night anymore! I am at a lose! This hasnt been a problem since she was 9 months, she is now 16 months... Normally we have a our little night routine, and off she goes to bed with little complaint. Tonight she cried for 25 minutes before falling asleep, and all week she has been waking and not going back to bed until she is gathered up and put in bed with DH and I. this all started with an ear infection the friday before Christmas, of course being sick, she was given lots of cuddling and snuggles. I think i created a monster! Now all she wants is to be in my arms. I cant resist wanting to hug her, but now i can no longer leave the room without tears! She has become my shadow, to say the least. I sure this is just a phase, but how can i get her back into her routine? Plus we have been home together all week, and we go back to daycare and work tomorrow. (i'm a teacher) So i'm sure she is going to have a tough day tomorrow. *sigh*

Any advice?

(Sorry that i havent posted in a while, we have had computer issues and i was busy with finishing my Master's degree! Hooray for me! I have missed you all and trying to catch up!)

It's possible the ear infection hasn't totally cleared up. A follow up visit to your ped. for an ear check would be a good idea. Then you'll have a better idea of what you're dealing with.

When my DD was a toddler she came down with pneumonia. The only place she would sleep was with us. Of course, since she was so sick, we allowed it. However, once she was well it was very hard getting her back into her own bed. {{{HUGS}}} BTDT. :)

Angela, you may not have school tomorrow! In my area of CT they're predicting 6-10" of heavy snow.

Trina- I was thinking the same thing about the ear, we just finished the amoxicillion (sp?) the other day, which we discovered she is allegric to from hives. She also had an array of immunizations on the 16th. so she had so much hitting her at once. when i spoke to the Ped. they told me to watch a few more days. No fever and she stops crying as soon as she is in my arms, and she is happy as pie all day, just follows me around and getting into things. Plus DH was home this week too, so she had plenty of attention. I feel like i need a vacation from vacation! LOL

I'm going to watch the 10:00 news now to see what our area is in for... Sounds like the state is getting quite a mix in terms of snow.

Thanks for the support :)

Could be amedical issue. Helen had a sinus infection that wouldn't go away and really manifested only as a post nasal drip, so it was really hard to tell she was even sick!

A major change in sleep habits is a big warning sign something is up. It might just be separation anxiety, though. As they get older, they start developing fears.

Helen also went through this until I left the light on in her room. It's on a dimmer and I put it on just enough to give the room a little glow so she can see where she is.

Hope you get it resolved. Sleep deprivation is no fun!

Oh - and we're off today, too!
