Family Issues Warning About Magnetix Toy

By Cat on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 - 08:32 pm:

Wow. We've got some of the regular straight Magnetix. My boys are older and I don't let them near the daycare kiddos. I never would have imagined. Very sad.

By Kate on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 - 08:38 pm:

I have Magnetix, and one of the magnets DID fall out of its cylinder edge! It only stuck to another magnetix cylinder, but the point is it DID fall out and there's no excuse for that. Since they are so strong, they should be completely encased in the plastic piece. Thanks for the warning, Trina. I'm not worried, myself, since my youngest is five and we don't play with them when younger kids are around, but I have passed this warning to others.

I had some and threw them out. I knew they were dangerous. John was put everything in his mouth and I still don't trust him.

My kids love these, but they are both old enough to play with things without the worry of putting them in their mouths. We definitely will never have them out around smaller children, though. I realized they would be a choking hazard, but never imagined that the magnets would be that strong! That poor family.

My ds just got these yesterday! It does not look like the same toy that is pictures in that story though. I had no idea that they were THAT strong! They will definitely be put away before any small children come over!

Thanks for the warning.
