Grumpy Kids

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Archive July-December 2005: Grumpy Kids

We soooo need school to start! My kids are driving me crazy. Earlier in the week, they predicted 70-degree temps for Saturday, so we thought we might go mini-golfing. The reality is that it's 86 and muggy and the last thing I want to do, is go miniature golfing. So, it's been rescheduled for the last week in August.

So, my kids are grumpy that they are stuck at home, yet another day. I really don't care. I'm about to go upstairs to find a book to read, and enjoy not having to go anywhere. DH is off helping his sister with something at his dad's house, so I could get some quiet time to read, with kids doing their own thing and no one to bother me!

I'm just getting tired of kids grumping at each other and grumping at DH and me! (When is September 1st?)

My kids were the same way right before they started school. Hang in there! Sept. 1st is right around the corner!

I hope you enjoyed your reading time :)

Well, they are better now! I was reading up in my bed, since that is my favorite place to read. I was joined by kids and the dog and eventually, my DH! LOL! So, 2 adults, 2 nearly grown children and a dog on one queen-sized bed. Kids were watching tv and I managed to still read over 100 pages of my book! Only bad thing is, that occasionally I would giggle, but it's humor that is part of the story and if you haven't read it, you won't get it! LOL!

This next week, though, they are going up to Grandma and Grandpa's house, from Tuesday until Saturday at lunch-time. So, we will get a break from kids for a few days.
