Cranky afternoon toddler update

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Archive July-December 2005: Cranky afternoon toddler update

We've gone down to one nap a day for most of this week and she is an ANGEL again!!! :) I was nervous about doing it because she was sleeping so much so I figured she needed it. I really think she was getting too much sleep. She's taking about a 2hr. nap at 1:30 or 2:00 each day and is not grouchy at all. Thanks for all of the suggestions. (She's also sleeping a little later in the mornings, yay for mommy!)

Wow, I'm glad that worked out for you!

Wow that's great! You may find that somedays she still needs 2 naps. She might get a little cranky in the morning and sleep for a bit and then need another one in the afternoon again just until she gets used to the new schedule.

Matt is a bit sick these last few days he has a fever, I think it's from teething and he's back to two naps but I'm sure once he's feeling better he'll be back to one nap.

What time is she going to bed at night?

Heaventree-She goes to bed at 8. She hasn't been the least bit cranky all morning or all afternoon. I really think she was ready for this and I just didn't realize it. She gets up between 7 and 8. I'm sure if/when she gets up earlier, she might need a little nap in the AM, or just to go down earlier for her afternoon nap. She's adjusting like she's always done this, so I'm relieved and happy!
