What could this be from?
Hailey woke up yesterday with a semi-puffed up eye. I didn't think much of it at the time, I just really wondered what it was from, well all day went by and it stayed swollen a tad bit. Then this morning I looked at her (she is still sleeping now) and it is even more swollen. What in the world could this be from? I don't recall her hitting her eye on anything, but I suppose she could have done it in her sleep. It is not blue swollen it is kind of very light purpleish-pink. I am scratching my head trying to figure this one out...any ideas?

It could very well be a bug bite.

My dd gets this at times, the doc has said that they can't do anything for it unless it stays swollen for more than a few days or it is warm or getting red streaks, all signs of infections.

There is a small bump on the upper eye lid where the lashes are..I guess that could be the culprit. Thanks I would have never thought of that.

thanks Vicki, I will keep an eye on it just in case and also do the warm compresses.
yes, warm compress should help if it's a sty. try cleaning it out if you can. sometimes they will prescribe an antibiotic ointment if needed.
Freedom had a spider bite on his cheek a few weeks ago and his eye swelled up like that. If it feels hot to the touch, I would suggest cold compresses.I was so alarmed,I called the ped and they told me to give him a little benadryl.
