Looking for a "gummi" vitamin

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Archive January-June 2005: Looking for a "gummi" vitamin
By Amyk on Tuesday, June 28, 2005 - 12:13 pm:

My 22mo has yet to go for taking a daily vitamin - I'm sure b/c they don't taste good. He is great about taking medicine, etc - but no luck on vitamins. I really feel that he needs one as he rarely eats veggies.

Do you know of a gummi-type vitamin that your toddler loves?

Thanks.
Amy

They sell Gummy Vites at Walmart and Target. My kids haven't had them, but I know lots of kids love them.

We buy them at Target and Cost-Co. I just bought a very large bottle at Cost-Co on Thursday for $9.

If you have a Trader Joe's nearby, they sell a brand my kids have been taking for four or five years. They are wonderful!

You're much better off buying vitamins at a good health food store. The cheap ones are synthetic, and just end up down the toilet. Your body can't absorb the synthetics. The ones that Dana is talking about are probably made from whole foods, so the body can absorb them.
You can get multis, but you can also get specific vitamins that cover the same nutrients that fruits and veggies have.

Ditto Dana and Marcia, but the good health food stores do sell gummies - but they are expensive, about $7-$8 per week.

Do health food stores sell the gummi type for little ones???

By Marcia on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 - 11:17 pm:

They might, but gummies aren't the best thing for teeth.

Yes, some do. That's where I used to buy them.

I use Young Living for my children. The are organic and the only vitamins that contain essential herb extracts.
