I'm so proud of my DD (Bethany, Gr. 1, almost 7) that I have to share. A little history first... She wasn't progressing in reading as much as we would have liked and we were considering summer school or tutoring. However, in the last few weeks I've noticed her reading at home has GREATLY improved! I spoke with her teacher today, who just happened to do another evaluation, and she said B blew her away with her progress! She has now met and exceeded the end of the year goal for Gr. 1. I'm so proud of her! She has been in speech therapy since the age of 3. I was worried her speech delays would carry over and cause learning difficulties but apparently that's not the case. Her speech therapist said she doesn't need therapy any longer. People can no longer tell she ever had articulation delays.

This is my strong-willed, determined and persistent child. Although these characteristics can be very challenging at times they certainly have served her well in school. I'm hoping they serve her well in life, too!
