Ds had his first overnight !

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Archive January-June 2005: Ds had his first overnight !

What a fabulous weekend I've had. Ds,2 1/2, just had his first night away from home.Grandma took him for the weekend, starting Sat. afternoon and brought him back Sun. afternoon. I must have really needed a break.Dh and I didn't know what to do first. I went and got a haircut, while he took a long bath, then we watched a movie, had some "snuggle" time, went out on a date downtown, came home and ate chocolate cake, stayed up late and SLEPT IN ! I even remembered my dream. Then in the morning I did some journaling, cleaned, did some gardening ,caught up with an old friend on the phone.Dh was very productive too.
It's amazing how much you can get done in such a short amount of time when the little ones are elsewhere. Motherhood is like bootcamp for multitasking, focus and discipline. When my kids are grown I am going to conquer the world.LOL :)
A few more weekends like this over the summer and I will have everything organized before the baby comes.
There were times when it was a little too quiet and I was sure was glad to get him back.It was good for him too.He was such a big boy, and he had a great time.
This was the reason I moved out here from L.A., to be close these wonderful grandparents.I guess I should do something to thank them, right?

Clarabel, definitely thank them, but I can tell you, as a grandmother, they are probably mentally thanking you too! :-)
