Happy:) or Sad :(

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Archive January-June 2005: Happy:) or Sad :(
By Kernkate on Thursday, April 14, 2005 - 08:51 am:

Our school district will be starting a Pre K program this Sept. My DD who is 4 {she will turn 5 in Sept}will be attending, which in a way I am happy about that she will be with other children and be able to interact with them since she has been home with me since she has been born. And in a way I am sad that my last baby will be going to school.:(
It will be a 1/2 day session and she seems thrilled to be going to school. And I think she will enjoy it.
Just have mixed feelings, she still seems like a baby to me.
Oh well I guess they all have to grow up eventually:( I thought it was bad when my first born went to school 14 years ago, but the baby I think is going to be even worse.
Thanks for letting me ramble:)

I feel pride/guilt/sadness about mine too. this year ds is gone all day and my dd is in 1/2 day pre-k. They both stayed at home with me so I'm glad they offer this since kindergarten is all day now. She gets mad that her brother getting to go all day! Next year they'll both be all day and I'll only have the baby.

Oh yes, definitely bitter sweet for mom, especially with the youngest child. {{{Kathy}}}

My almost four year old dd will be going to preschool this next fall and it's killing me to not have someone home with me. I know that she will love it and I think she needs to be exposed to more kids and the rules that school teaches her but I want my baby home with me! :( {{{Hugs}}} for all of us!
