Can you reccommend something for under 100$ for a carseat. Soon little Miss Faith(who really isnt that little :)) will be out of her infant carseat. She is close to the 20 pd mark and just 7 month old..At this time we cant afford a big expensive kind that you usally suggest..Can you give me some suggestions in a less expensive brand?
Thanks

Jade was out of her seat at 5 months because she was so long. Good luck!!!! Go to Wal-mart they have really nice car seats and most are under $100 look at them and get one that you can use for a while.

Wow, is she 7 mos. already?!

Recommended car seats and a Compatibility Database at CarSeatData.org.

One of my favorite seats that is reasonably priced is the Evenflo Triumph. There are different versions but I've seen it on-line at Wal-Mart for just over $100.

More recommendations and reviews by a CPS Tech here: http://www.car-safety.org/carseats.html

Be sure to get one that has a 5 pt. harness and a front harness adjuster. Overhead shield car seats are not recommended.

Keep her rear facing until at least 12 mos. AND 20 lbs.. Longer is even better! The AAP and safety experts now recommend babies stay rear facing until they outgrow the rear facing limits of their convertible car seat. Rear facing better protects the neck and spine during a crash.

(I realize you know all this stuff Jackie, but I like to post it for the benefit of others who read the board. :))

I am not Trina,:) but if I may butt in..We bought Hailey the Cosco Touriva when she was 4 months old (she had outgrown her infant carrier) It has been great never once have we had a twisty strap, I cannot stand twisty straps. And It has deep enough sides to where her head does not fall over the side, she is comfortable in it. I would not recommend the Alpha Omega, Katelyn had that seat and I hated it, her head would fall over and she looked very uncomfortable. Just thought I would tell you about that one just in case. When Hailey outgrows this one though (in another 2 years) we are getting another Parkway...they are great!
