Do your kids have...?

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Archive January-June 2005: Do your kids have...?

Do your kids have sensitive feet? Is putting on socks a challenge? This was often an issue with DD. She would try on several pairs of socks before she found a pair that didn't bother her. Another mom had the same problem but discovered flat seam socks and suggested them to me. Oh my gosh! We LOVE these socks! No more tears or frustration when getting dressed! Woo hoo! text description

I was unable to find them at local stores in my area but ordered them from the SockCompany.com

When Jen was that age, she drove me nuts with socks! I never could understand how every sock was uncomfortable on her foot, but apparently it was. We lived through it though...... LOL

Sometimes DD complains about her socks being crooked, but it's not a regular worry for us. Thankfully! I'm glad you found these socks though!:)

Katelyn will complain about her socks and I have to re-adjust them until they feel ok. I might try a pair of these and see if it helps her, Thanks Trina.

YES! My oldest ds was this way for a couple of yrs. We bought diff brands of socks until he found one he could handle. lol He hasnt complained in yrs tho.

Youngest ds has been the same way. I have gone so far as to turn his socks wrong side out. He seems to be getting over it tho-- doesnt complain near as much. For awhile he was throwing himself down and flopping around on the floor whining about his silly socks.

Did I mention I did this when I was a kid? lol

I will look into these socks you mentioned. Thanks!

I have had problems with my own socks. I like these slouch socks that Hanes makes, but the seams used to be so bulky, it was uncomfortable when I put my shoes on sometimes. Now, they make the seams more flat and it's sooooo much nicer! It always seemed like there wasn't enough room in my shoes for those bulky seams. I won't wear the bulky ones anymore. I should just throw them away.

Not the kids, but ME!!! lol Socks can drive me nuts. That's another reason I like warm weather. I don't wear them! :)

None of my kids had sock issues. But I have a niece that was a terror to put socks on when she was little. I dreaded it.

Kristine and Kayla both have this problem. I found a brand at Walmart that has better seams....in Kayla's size. I cannot remember the brand. Vasserette? Still an issue for both of them...

That is interesting! I guess my kiddos have tough feet. They would be just fine walking out in rocks with bare feet. I'm glad you found some socks that work out! It's funny how the simple things in life make moms happy :)

Mary Sheeda Kurcinka wrote one of my favorite books Raising Your Spirited Child and in it, she dedicates an entire section to SOCKS! :-)

Glad you found some that work for you.

Meltonmom, I have that book! Guess why I bought it?! DD, the one with sock issues, is my spirited child. LOL!
