Strep--again

We're off to the ped's office this morning for a strep test. I swear, you say the word "strep" around Randy and he gets it!!! He started complaining yesterday after school, and one of my daycare girls went to the doc yesterday and has it. Dh is upset because he feels this girl gave it to Randy, and now I'm loosing a day's pay because "she got him sick" and the other parents don't want their kids exposed (totally understandable!). Oh well. I'm okay with it. I'm glad to have a day off! lol Anyway, gotta go get Robin ready for school and head out. I'll be shocked if the test comes back negative. We'll see...

Dd used to be the strep queen!! She got it at least 3 times every winter. I finally asked when she was in 2nd grade about getting her tonsils out. Her ped told me they don't even start to consider that until they get it 6 times in a season!! She said, oh she will eventually out grow it. I thought, yea right. But you know what... that is the last time she got strep. LOL We went all through 3rd grade with no strep and so far we are strep free in 4th grade. So maybe her ped does know what she is talking about. LOL The only thing that is nice about strep (if there is such a thing) is that you can give them medicine to make them feel better. It isn't something that just has to run it's course. In any case, I hope your little guy is feeling better soon.

The rapid test came back negative!!! They did send out for a culture, though because they said it could be a false negative. So we'll know for sure in the next three days. He's feeling okay, but says his throat still hurts a little. It is going around, so we'll see. So far, so good...

I took my middle kid in yesterday for the same thing. He is always positive, but was neg this time..woo hoo! We have all had the crud, so hopefully this will pass soon!

Katie has strep. Started on the medication today. Early stages not very painful yet, Thank Heavens.. Hope it turns out to be nothing...

He just came up and said he feels okay, but his throat still hurts a little. I'm sure if the culture is positive they'll call either this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Maybe it's just post-nasel drip. (hoping!) Thanx for asking.
