Hard to find pajamas

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Archive January-June 2005: Hard to find pajamas
By Mrsheidi on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 - 02:53 pm:

I've been to Babies R Us and Target and I STILL cannot find 12 mo pajamas that don't look like they came from the polyester 70's!
My son is extra big for his age (he's outgrown his 9 mo pj's and he's 7 months). He's 20 pounds but he's very tall so he needs the 12 months clothes.
Problem is, the 12 month clothes are mostly separates. I pick him up all the time and I hate it when the clothes ride up.
Anyone know of a store (even an online one) that has them?

By Palmbchprincess on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 - 02:59 pm:

Carter's has great pajamas... nice and soft, I like the kind that button together at the waist. I go to the Carter's outlets every few months, but here is the site and there is a store locator. Carter's PJs

Do you want blanket sleepers or lighter weight cotton? Have you checked out Lands' End?

By Trina~moderator on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 - 03:03 pm:

Oh, I forgot about Carter's. Nice!

By Rayanne on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 - 03:11 pm:

I buy some of Rylee's from Bealls. They are pretty good. Have you tried JC Penny's? My friends little boy sounds a lot like yours, and she buys hers at JC Penny's.

By Mrsheidi on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 - 03:12 pm:

I haven't checked out Land's End or Carter's. The ones at Babies R Us are Carter's but they didn't have ANY 12 mo kind.
I just love the footy sleepers and want both blanket sleepers and cotton. I also like the terry cloth kind...absorbs a little bit of spit up...crazy I would think of that! LOL!
I'll check those out and get back with y'all!

I've got another chime for Carters. In fact, they have those soft footed or non-footed fleece pajamas up to a size 5T. I was so happy to find this out so that I can keep Timmy in them for a while longer.

Oh yeah, and the colors are great. Lots of greys and greens and yellows and reds. Nothing outlandish at all.

Disney store online, this is the season there PJ's are on sale too. If you are getting the snug fitting PJ's get a size larger than you want I think they run a hair small (its been awhile but I always used to have to do this with this certain style) I always like their Pajamas. Childrens Place was always good to.

Thanks, ladies! Went online shopping (thank God for that) and got 2 footy pj's for Connor. I used that 15% off web coupon off of this website too! $18 including shipping
I'm on a roll!!

Cartes, that is what Taylor wears and we love them. Old Navy also has some great ones.

By Dandjmom on Thursday, January 27, 2005 - 08:26 am:

Try Old Navy. I think your in MD. If so, I find that the store located in BOWIE Town Center and &Charles Town Center's have great selection. Ihave a big boy alos he is 13 months wears a size 4t in clothes and some times it's hard to find things for him.Hope you find what your looking for.

About a month ago I got a pair of one piece, zip up the front, footed pajamas for dd size 4T at Wal-mart. They are "Child of Mine by Carters" brand and are made of a thinner fleece with the outside of the foot having a rubbery sole. I didn't look to see the smallest size they had because I needed a bigger size but it might be worth a look for you.

By Katiesmommy on Thursday, January 27, 2005 - 04:22 pm:

My dd is 6.5 months and is 21 pounds and 28 inches long and I am having the SAME issue you are. I think I saw some at WalMart, but you are right, finding one piece fottie jammies for 12 months is like finding a needle in a haystack!!!

By Mrsheidi on Thursday, January 27, 2005 - 06:13 pm:

Yes, it's almost impossible! I just love them too. Man, I would be really rich if I decided to start a line of footy pj's at a reasonable price. The ones at Land's End and other places were outrageous.
I've only found 2 at Children's Place that I liked. (And the coupon was awesome...thanks Feona!)
I tried the Walmart website and it's very hard to navigate around on it. My brother designs websites and could make it SO much more user friendly. I heard that the Walmart internet site was terrible, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

Amy, I just found some good deals on www.webclothes.com There is a coupon on this site for it, but it's expired and there's free shipping if there's a purchase of $99 or more.
PHEW! I got 2 footed sleepers for $14, including shipping/handling!
Ok, i've got 4 for now...I don't feel like such a bad mommy now. His poor feet are getting scrunched in his footed sleepers that he wears now!

By Mrsheidi on Thursday, January 27, 2005 - 09:07 pm:

PS- Amy, your DD is SOOOOOOO adorable!!

By Jrsmom on Thursday, January 27, 2005 - 11:50 pm:

OshKosh also has the terry cloth kind that are footed. I love the Carters blanket sleepers and Costco has them pretty regularly for only $6.99. I have stocked up in all sizes.

By Mrsheidi on Friday, January 28, 2005 - 09:14 am:

Dawn, we have a wholesale club here too, but they don't carry the size 12M. It's a really difficult size to find. I'll look at OshKosh though!
Letishe, when you see the subjects and the posts, scroll down to the bottom and it will give you instructions.
I'll look into cdwkids.com!
