What in the world was I thinking..:(

By My2cuties on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 - 03:31 pm:

Yesterday I cleaned the house front to back and in the process moved our 3 year old toddler bed back in her room with her sister and converted Hailey''s crib into a toddler bed. :( Last night was horrible, we didn't get to sleep until 1:30 this morning..Hailey kept getting up and Katelyn would not go to sleep no matter what. I think I gave Hailey like 3 cups of water to get her to go to sleep. We ended up putting Katelyn on the couch in the livingroom and closing the girls' bedroom door so Hailey would not wonder all over the place. 1:30a.m.!!! the house was finally quiet and I laid down to go to sleep, and the baby is moving all over the place, I think I got a foot jammed in my side 4 or 5 times...thankfully she calms down after about 10 minutes. We all went to bed...and slept until 11:30 this afternoon, thank God I am a sahm. NO NAPS TODAY! and we will see how it goes tonight. :( I hope this is not a taste of how it will be when the baby gets here. I have got to get them to go to sleep at a decent hour before May! Hopefully it was just because it was the first night.

Im sure it was just because it was
the first night. When we first moved into
our new house back in July my dd was not good
about sleeping in her new room. It tooks weeks
for her to do it without crying and she would wake
up several times a night crying to sleep with me.
I hope tonight goes better for you!

Trisa is right! When I put my son in his toddler bed it was awful! And when we moved it was awful. It will take a couple of days to adjust. Like you said thank God you are a sahm! I have to be up every morning by 5:45 am. for work

DD went through the stage of getting out of bed. I think it lasted about 2 weeks and I seriously contemplated converting it back to a crib. One morning I slept in until 8 and wondered why DD wasnt up yet only to find her downstairs playing. Who knows when she got up but that scared me because she could have seriously been hurt. Since then, we keep a baby gate in her bedroom door so if she feels the need to get out of bed and play, she cant escape.

You are lucky boxzgrl! My DS knows how to either go under the gate, or climb over the gate! He is a handful! LOL... He was up 2 times last night wanting choclate milk

Last night went better, I put them down around 9 and they dosed off around 10.. so only an hour this time. Katelyn did tons better last night, she is actually excited about being a big girl now, Hailey got up around 10 times and every time I would just put her back in bed. Finally I gave her a cup of milk and she went right to sleep.

This morning around 6 I opened my eyes and Hailey was laying in the floor in front of our bedroom door. I woke DH up and he just smiled and went back to bed, I got up and put her back in her bed and they both woke up around 7:30
