It's so hard to believe! From now on i'm officially doing 'Mom" business. I've got to structure her life, guide her in the right directions while at the same time letting mistakes happen. Encourage her self esteem and self worth by showing her that after all there *are* things she can do on her owns without Mommy's help. She's talks so much and can repeat alot of new words that may have heard only once before. Tantrums are a regular these days but i'm not responding to them, and while that breaks her itty bitty heart in pieces, those tantrums are becoming further and further apart. I went out yesterday and bought her a 'big girl' kitchen so she can help me cook. She loves it! These are all things it seems like I was dreaming of when she was just born. Counting down until the day I heard my first born say "Mama". And those days seem just like yesterday. Now shes a big girl that will soon be testing the waters and venturing out on her own without Mommy always being her playmate in a search to discover who 'she' is. I'm very proud of how she is turning out so far. I guess the billions of books I read help a bit, and the help of you girls on this site. The next year or so will be crucial in her journey to self discovery, self worth, self esteem and just overall feeling good about herself. So, not only am I happy for who my DD has become so far but i'm a bit nervous in how I reflect these milestones she'll be coming to. But one day at a time... and i'm sure when she's 3 years old, i'll gladly come here and write how proud of her I am at that point, too.

Wow, that just looks like I wrote my DD a letter whos 18 and going off to college. Shes 18, but thats in months, not years! :)
I guess I still have a little more time to enjoy my "baby" before it's too uncool to be hanging around your parents!
