How is that for a title? Anyway tonight when I took ds diaper off, (he will be four months on the 1st) there was a tiny bit of blood on the diaper right where the diaper rubs against his penis. It scared me sooo bad. I called my good friend who also has boys and she told to me that maybe he isn't totally healed and its a little irriated. So I put some ointment on it. He is not acting like he is pain at all. I don't know what I have done, I take such good care of him, at least I think so. To top it all off I was so upset about the blood, I wasn't paying attention and ds son urinated all over me and him self, so then we had to have our second bath of the day. Ohh I am so frustrated and upset. Anyway way if any one has any help for me about this, or have I done something wrong? Any help would be great. Thanks so much in advance.

Putting on ointment would be exactly what I would do. Don't really think the DR can give you anything else for it. Unless it is a rash or looks infected that is. But if it is just a little scrape/sore it should heal up on it's own. And you are doing just fine I am sure. Being a mom is learning by trial and error and what works on one will not always work on the rest.. Just do the best you can do and learn from the things you might mess up. That is all any of us do. Don't beat yourself up. He will be fine... Big hugs...

Yup-ointment....lots so that it stays kind of moist and the penis doesn't get stuck an rip open again........

I use Penaten on my son(who is also 4 months).I don't know if you have it in the US...but it is a white pastey zinc kind of diaper cream.I completely smother everything in it....Ds had a bad rash about 4 weeks ago and the Penaten worked wonders....

My favorite of all time is A/D ointment. I wouldn't be too concerned althought i know it can be frightening. I would call his ped if it looks red and irritated, definately if you see any sign of infection. The skin there is fragile on big people on little people even more. Don't beat yourself up about this.

Aquaphore is my choice. It's very good. My son also had a problem like this. It corrected itself on its own. I hope he feels better.
