When did you guys stop 'burping' your baby? Mine is 7mo. in a week, and I still burp him. I know at some point they dont have to be 'burped' anymore. Just curious!;o)

One more question,;o), when did you guys start using highchair?

By Rayanne on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 08:44 am:

Rylee is now 10 months and I do not burp her anymore. I think that I stopped once she could eat solids.

I started using a highchair when she could sit up.

I started using a high chair for DD when she was 6 months old.

I believe when there are more mobile and can sit up etc... is when they dont need to be consistently burped so I think I stopped burping her at about 6 months too.

I stopped burping Christopher when he started solids also. And I started using the high chair when he starting sitting up.

Boy, I can't remember when the burping stopping. Probably about 6 mos.
I never used the highchair except when I was cleaning or busy and wanted the kids to have some fun with food. At meals they just sat on my lap for the most part.

I don't remember when the burping stopped either. It seems like so long ago!

We had a convertable highchair that could be put in a reclining position. We started using that at about 3 or 4 months. It then converted to a regular highchair that we started using at about 6 months (as soon as they could sit up). Then it went to a booster chair for the table, and then to a booster seat to fit on a regular chair. We used it for between 2 and 3 years for each of our DK's. We really got our money's worth out of that thing. It is still in excellent condition. We gave it to our neighbors when we moved.

I stopped burping Emma when she was about 10 months. I probably could have stopped much earlier but I just didn't know. I used a high chair at about 5 months. I propped her at first with a towel.

If Olivia is grumpy I try to burp her, but otherwise I haven't burped her since she turned 5 months.
I have a reclining highchair & started using it at 4 months.

Jade has been in her high chair for the last 3 weeks and I stopped burpingher at like 5 months too. Like someone above said I still do when I know she should still be hungry so i can finish her meal otherwise I don't.

Thanks ladies!

I used my high chair when they were about amonth old, ours reclined and I had them at dinner with us. As far as burping, i think if they move around they work that gas out, so it is based more on development than age. At that rolling/crawling stage I stopped.
