Brendan's back from the doctor

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Archive July-December 2004: Brendan's back from the doctor
By Christylee on Monday, September 27, 2004 - 04:14 pm:

Well Brendan's a pretty sick little boy this go around. His left ear is infected, his throat is infected, and he's got bronchitis. No wonder he won't eat anything, his throat hurts. He's to stay home the rest of the week (he only goes Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) and they put him on Omnicef (OMG, $54.00 and we don't have insurance!!)

Chuck is going to stay home with him tomorrow more likely so I don't miss another day of clinicals.

Poor little guy:( I just hate to see any of my kids sick. I would much rather be sick then them.

I'm so sorry that he is so sick. It really stinks when our kids are sick because we are so helpless. {{{Christy and Brenden}}}

Hope he feels better soon. A word of caution on the omnicef - make sure you use a really good barrier cream on his bottom - Aquaphor or something equally as thick. My son had some pretty bad diareha and a rash so wicked it was like a burn when he was on the omnicef.
If he'll take it, you might want to give him some yogurt also.

Thanks for the heads up on that, luckily I bought yogurt for him because of his sore throat and he's been eating several a day so I lucked out there, without even knowing it! lol... So far no diareha, although I haven't been going into the bathroom with him. He usually tells me though if he's gone #2 so I don't think he has.
