Real tears!!! DH had to come and hug me!!! Got an e-mail from my 16yo who had said before school started that he had to quit ROTC because they would make him cut his hair. (He had BEAUTIFUL, a little past shoulder length hair...just gorgeous... I loved to play with it when he was here) His e-mail said ....it's gone...he has about a 10th of what he had. He just got his uniform and had to wear it today (he's a junior in high school this year....his younger brother just started as a freshman:)) It made me cry so bad!!!!!!!!!!! Have any of you BTDT??? Cried cuz your baby was becoming a man???? Why does that make you cry? That's what they are supposed to do right? I'm REALLY proud of my ex, or his mother, or somebody...for raising such outstanding boys...(they've lived with their dad since they were 6, 4, and 3.)
I asked him if he could bring his uniform down in 2 weeks cuz I want to go get pictures taken or something...(it'll probably make me cry again :))
Just had to share....
Thanx ladies,
Beth

i understand very well what ur saying ... teusday my daughter turned eighteen and said mom im all grown up now .. more in a joking way ... she is in hi school tkaing a full load and in cosmotology and holding a 3.8 average .. weve been in school since august 11th rolls eyes ... but she has matured in so many ways i cry to see her grow up she is my baby and so independant ... i am proud of her... she told me that mom im eighteen now and i can get my nose peirced if i wanted to ... i said yeah i know but i think ull respect our wishes no matter what the decision is ... so i let listened to her and she stated that she promied to keep it small and dainty and not outragous ... she is into sparkle and so she got a lil diamond put in the curve of her nose ... we agreed that she was mature enough to handle the judgemental looks and words some people will have towards her tho we live in calif ...theres still alot that dont agree with it ... she said she can get a clear cover to put over it and it will take to the makeup she has on that day and to keep it apprpiate ... with that in mind and her maturity and show of responsibility we allowed it ... but on those conditions ... which she mostly brought up anyways ... we have to let them test the waters to finish growin up ... it really looks great ... eight kids i understand i know ull cherish that picutre of ur son for along long time cant wait to see the pictures ...

Jewlz, both my DD's have tiny diamond nose studs too. I was totally against it, but there wasn't much I could do to stop it. For some reason, 3 of my 4 are really into piercings.

Beth, I can totally relate to how you are feeling. And that never ends, unfortunately. I cried like a baby when Jen graduated from high school in 2003 because she was the last one. Can't wait to see how I behave at the college grads! I'll probably humiliate the entire family! LOL

Oh Beth, I understand! I cried the first time I saw my 14 yr old dd in marching band formation! I was just floored that she was old enough to play, march and stay in formation all at the same time. Yes, I think it boils down to just our kids growing up. Emotions are so strange, aren't they? I think I've cried more this first year in high school than I did even when my kids left for kindergarten!
