Slept for 5 1/2 hours straight

There IS a GOD!! Ha ha ha... I have a 9 week old and he slept from 8:30pm to 2 am. (Then, after a feeding, to 6am!) WAHOO!

By Audreyj on Monday, September 6, 2004 - 08:13 am:

AMEN!

Both my kids were premies when we brought them home.

They drank 33cc's (about an ounce) of specialized formula every two hours. I remember, exactly how I felt when they reached 3 months old and started just waking up every four-five hours.

Congratulations! AJ

My newborn daughter is 3 1/2 weeks old, and usually she sleeps around 4 hrs at a time at night.. And its not nearly enough for us...:)Unfortunatley though when she gets up to eat, shes up for at least an hr, not crying , just looking around, eating...kind of just taking in the world. Iknow there will be a light at the end of the tunnel..

Congratulations, MrsHeidi! That is a wonderful thing. When my oldest daughter slept from 11pm until 6am, I thought I died and went to heaven! At 8 weeks, she slept through the night and then was good from then on, but she put us through hell for about 6 weeks before that! Man, that girl could CRY!

Yes, Jackie, they really do eventually sleep through the night! Mine sure didn't at 3-1/2 weeks, though! LOL!

The first time my dd did that I thought something was wrong and ran into her room to make sure she was still breathing! LOL I loved those first nights of decent sleep. It doesn't take much to make a newborn's mother happy...a shower, 5 hours of sleep, a shirt with no spit-up on the shoulder! Congrats!

OMG!! I can't even imagine!!

Kiko does about 3 hours at a time(One memorable night about 2 weeks ago he slept 5 hours, but I think I actually just couldnt remember one of his feeding...LOL)......

Eliah never slept through the night till he was about 3!!!!

The first year with Eliah he woke every 2 hours. It was horrible!!!!!!!

Congrats!!

I was very spoiled with a baby who slept through the night at 8 weeks and then that was it and quickly went from sleeping about 6-7 hours to sleeping for 12 hours at a crack! Every 2 hours?? I would have gone insane! Or actually DH would have gone insane, since some of those nights I was working! I went back to work at 8 weeks, so it was nice for hubby that she was sleeping through the night.

My second baby was more hit and miss. Some nights she slept and some she didn't. I can't remember anymore when it became ever night. It was complicated by a 2 yo with night terrors on the nights the baby DID sleep through the night! Argh! It was never both of them on the same night. If Emily woke up, then Sarah slept fine. If Sarah slept fine, then Emily woke up! I swear they had a conspiracy going, since I had to get up everytime someone didn't sleep (if I was home. I worked 2 weeks days and 2 weeks of nights at that time!)

The first time my dd did this I woke up at her normal feeding hour. I panicked & had to go check on her.

I co-slept with my dd for the first three months, it was GREAT! She would latch on when I was asleep and most of the time I didn't even wake up! Now after I put her in her own crib it took quite a while for her to sleep even 3-4 hours without waking up. Now she's finally only waking up once a night, about 10, so I'm still awake anyway, and then she sleeps through the night most of the time. I sure hope I'm as lucky with Damian! But we're planning on doing a family bed this time too, at least until we get a three bedroom place.
