Party Ideas???

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Archive January-June 2004: Party Ideas???

I know that there are a few moms that have thrown Strawberry Shortcake parties and I am wondering if you had any cute ideas for my girls? I'm decorating red balloons with construction paper "caps" so they will look like strawberries and making a Strawberry shaped cake. It thinking about making a Jelly Roll with Strawberry jam and cream cheese frosting. Any ideas for snacks or decorating? We are keeping it short and doing a bounce house so we may not do any games unless a really cute one comes up. Are there any good sites for ideas? I did a search and most were sites that sold products which I can get here. Let me know if you have any ideas. TIA

I thought maybe this might help. It has ideas for treats. When I was little I had to have strawberry shortcake or strawberry cheesecake for my birthday!

We did strawberry shortcake for my dd's 4th birthday. A craft or party gift idea I had was little clay pots. You could write "friendship grows like a flower" (a strawberry shortcake song) on the pots. Then you or the kids could plant flower seeds. We did this and it was a hit.

That's a neat idea, Nancy! I am going to remember that one for my little girl. :)

LOL that was my idea when i had my dd's b-day party. But then we got painted clay pots with seeds for mom's day at preschool (the kids invited were from her class), and then more plants at the end of the year, so i deceded nobody needed anymore little plants.

It is a cute idea though!
