Thank God for my son

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Archive January-June 2004: Thank God for my son
By Karen~moderator on Wednesday, May 19, 2004 - 05:34 pm:

If it weren't for him right now, I honestly don't know what I'd do. I'm having a very rough time with things this week, including caring for my mom, and problems at home with DD and DH. I've been very upset for days and my son came to my office this afternoon and stood behind my chair with his arms around me, hugging me, kissing the top of my head, and told me *I love you mom, don't worry, everything's going to be allright. I'll MAKE it be.*

I'm wondering how I could end up with a child who is so considerate and feeling and thoughtful, and another that is the exact opposite.

This week, I don't know what I'd do without Jeff's support.

Oh, Karen,
I don't know the problems you've been having with your DD. But, it's so wonderful that you've raised such a caring, loving son. Just know that each child is different, and no matter what the problems, I'm sure your daughter loves you, too. Hang in there.

Karen I am sorry that you are having a rough week. Moms & daughters fight, thats what my Mom & I do best. I know & so does she that when things get tough we can count on each other no questions asked.

Please remember that we are here any time you need to vent. Sometimes it helps just getting it out, even if we don't have any answers for you. Hang in there, Karen. I am so glad to know your son came through for you just when you needed it most. You did good, Mom. :)

What a sweet son you have there!

I'm sorry to hear your having such a tough time lately. I hope things start looking up for you soon Karen!

{{{Karen}}}} Hope things will get better soon for you.
Sounds like Jeff is the best. My DS Tom is the same way...never thought a young man could be so sensitive and caring and they truely are. Its amazing how different siblings could be.
Just having to care for your mom is alot on your shoulders right now.
Hope things will start looking up real soon. We are all here for you.

Thanks all....right now I feel really alone......and I need somewhere to vent. Things have been crazy lately and there's a lot of hurt inside right now. Jeff's ALWAYS there for me.....and he really came through for me yesterday when I was at my lowest. Things are a bit better this morning, but by no means resolved.

I'm sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. I'm really glad that someone is there for you. Having one of your kids be that someone is a bonus, knowing that they are that kind of person can make you feel like you've really done something right. {{{Karen}}}

Karen, prayers for your current troubles and sending thanks for your son.

It is almost a rule that daughters completely seperate and are kind of mean to their mothers from like age 16-22. After she is 22 she should be much closer to you.

Karen how are you doing today?

By Karen~moderator on Saturday, May 22, 2004 - 02:12 pm:

Thanks for asking. Feeling better today...just got my hair highlighted so that gave me a much needed lift.

Certain issues still need to be addressed at home, but one thing at a time.............
