I can't believe he said it...

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Archive January-June 2004: I can't believe he said it...

My son has this nasty habit of unplugging things. So we have safety items so he can't. We were over to my Moms house when my ds unpugged a lamp that was on. Of course my Mom & I are yelling at him to stop. But what does my dh yell, "Joseph plug that back in!" He is 2 years old & my dh(and I don't mean darling!) tells him to plug it back in. Can he use a little common sense. His reasoning is that Joe is really good at plugging things back in! Hello is there anything in your head!!!!
My Mom looked so shocked, I yelled at him & he couldn't understand why.

It sounds like he just didn't think and then got defensive. It happens. Don't be too hard on him, but discuss it with him when you can both be calm about it. I'll bet he'll understand.
What safety device do you have that stops a child from unplugging something electrical? I need to get some for my son's bedroom.
