Well he is just worn slam out from being outside the past 2 days. And if thats not bad enough we grilled out and while my dh was grilling i went and took a hot bath and my dh turned to pick up the prongs and my ds grabbed the rack in the grill!! Poor thing burned his hands up. I was SOOOOO furious. By the time i came down he was fine and playing but i know they will be blistered. Then my dh gave him a bath and i think that made it worse, my ds usually loves baths but he cried the whole time! Now its only 7 and my ds is asleep, but i think it will be for the night. I hate when my kids get hurt!!!!!!

I would get some burn cream on right away. Blisters are horrible! There is a cream that you can by over the counter called burn jel. If you put it on before blisters develop it will lesson the pain and severity of the blisters.

Get some motrin into him also to reduce the pain and swelling. Poor kid. Let us know how he is.

I am not sure if it is a prescription or not, but silvadine works really good! I hate it when any kid gets hurt (especially mine). I hope he feels better.

Silvadine is a prescription, I believe. But it works wonders on burns.

Poor guy, burns are the worst.

Ouch! Burns are the worst. I also hate to see kids get hurt. I hate it when I get a small burn, I can't even imagine a handful of burns from the grill. Hope he feels better soon.

Ouch! When my oldest daughter was 8 mons. old, we went out for pizza once. She was in one of those seats that clamp on the table. The waitress put the pizza on the table and Sarah put her left hand right on the pizza. She got burned too. I was so mad. If she had been in a high chair, we could have had her a little farther away from the hot pizza. In the seat she was in, I think the waitress could have been more careful because babies touch everything. She did get blisters, but about a week later, she was pretty well healed up.

My oldest dd grabbed a curling iron while I was standing right next to her! I was so furious (with myself) and so guilty and on top of that my 18 month old baby was hurt. Of course we took her right to the ER and she kept them in water for a couple of hours and doesn't remember it and has no scars from it...but I still feel guilty! It was probably painful in the bath, think about how the hot water can hurt on a sunburn but I doubt it made it worse if there was some time in between. Poor baby! and it's not easy for you, either.

Well the burn hasn't bothered him at all, he has several burns when we checked after he fell asleep but they are all small. They have blistered a little but not too bad. He is grabbing toys and playing outside again today like it never happened. So i am glad about that. The poor guy is falling and scraping he little knees and just keeps on going. My dh told me to stop worrying so muc, boys will be boys!

By Amecmom on Sunday, April 25, 2004 - 09:09 am:

Boys will be boys, but that won't prevent infection. Make sure to put a burn cream and keep the blisters as clean as possible when they do break. But, I'm sure you know that already.
Glad he's feeling better.

My dd learned the meaning of the word "hot" by touching the side of our grill! She never forgot it either. Hope his hand continues to heal.

Oh Kenna, I hate days like that. Reading on, I am glad to hear he has bounced back quickly!
