Bed wetting Questions

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Archive January-June 2004: Bed wetting Questions
By Momoffour on Tuesday, February 24, 2004 - 05:23 pm:

I have a 2 1/2 year old son that is potty trained and not wetting the bed at night. about 2 weeks ago he started wetting in the bed. The bad thing is he sleeps with me and Dh. (not a pleasant thing to wake in) I can't figure out whats going on. I went and bought him some pull ups today and told him that he had start wearing them at night and he got upset and told me no. I need any advice you have please...

I'd go with pull-ups and wait it out. 2.5 yrs is awfully young to be night-time potty trained, esp. for a boy. He will probably have several dry/wet nights or weeks before he has full control of his bladder at night. Never thought about the co-sleeping and bedwetting issues. Yikes!

Ditto Pam. How long has he been potty trained? It's not unusual to be touch and go at such a young age. I think Pull Ups are a necessity at this point, especially with the co-sleeping. Perhaps he'll be OK with big boy underwear and Pull Ups over them. ??

Some people use a towel for the child to sleep on. Not much help there. You could say wear the pull up or sleep by yourself.

Two and a half is very young for night time potty trained. He is doing very good.
