My dd is 5 months. She started scooting at 4 months, but she is now really crawling. She is on hands and knees and gets where she wants to go fast! Not much fun for me I thought she was too young for crawling. Is this in the range? Just curious.

Sounds like DS. He was in a great big hurry to chase after the puppy and that really got him going.He too was crawling aroung 5.5 months . He was walking holding on at 9.5 months and really walking free a couple weeks later ! We had to prepone the baby proofing gates and the like ! He is sooo active to date. He's into everything.Keeps me on my feet and slim and trim . Gets kinda boring being a SAHM otherwise.Most of our at home games are running around, up and down the stairs, hide and seek , basketball, run and fling yourself on the bean bag! It's Fun!!

my oldest crawled at 5 1/2 months and walked all over by herself at a week before she turned 8 months. my youngest didn't do much of anything until she was 7 months but, she still took off walking at 9 months. I think because we didn't set and hold them all the time and allowed them to be on the floor and play.

Mine got to be on the floor a lot, too, since I never owned a playpen. Older dd didn't crawl until she was a year old and then walked at 13-1/2 months and younger one crawled at 10 months and walked at 13 months. Mine weren't in a hurry to walk.

Wow! I hope you are all baby proofed...it sounds like you need it already! Mine were definitely not that early. There is such a wide range of what is considered "normal" for development. In fact, if I remember correctly, the What to Expect book doesn't even put crawling in as a milestone because there is such a wide range of when kids do it. (And then there are the ones who never crawl at all!)

Three of my four crawled at 5 months and walked between 8 and 9 months. My oldest didn't crawl until she 7 months and didn't walk until she was 11 months.

My older ds's did'nt crawl until they were about 7-8 months then walked in their 10th month. I've never had a baby be this early at this. Not sure how much I like it LOL. She is keeping me on my toes
