A little cute thing that he did...

Scott said "hop into bed" last night and sure enough, that's what he did! Ha ha ha!! His bed is still on the floor because my mom was using the twin bed so he literally "hopped" into bed and was giggling all the while! LOL :) He even said, "See, daddy, I hopped!"

Wouldn't it be great if they were so eager to follow all our instructions? That was really cute. Thanks for sharing the smile.

I love little ones that age! They take everything so literally.

I remember my kids being around that age, maybe a bit older. They asked what that fake person at the store was, i said it was a mannequin. They said "no, it's a girl so it must be a girl-aquin" LOL i've never looked at a mannequin the same again.

I can tell you what I did as a child. Don't quite know how old I was - old enough to write, for sure. Anyway, my mother was always telling me to put something on my feet because I loved to walk around barefoot. I got so tired of it that I wrote the word something on two pieces of paper and taped them to the top of my feet. She had a good laugh.

Funny moments, funny stories.

By Colette on Monday, November 26, 2007 - 08:55 pm:

write these moments down. My mother always told me this and I never did it. Now that my youngest is 10 and my oldest is almost 17, I wish I had.

Cute! Ditto Colette on the writing things down. That one is perfect! I'm so A-N-A-L about that, but I know one of these days I'll be glad about it. Baby books have zero space for writing down all those cute things. I keep a blank lined journal next to my bed. If I don't write something down "in the moment", then before I go to sleep at night, I quickly think back over the day and write it down then. That has really helped me to keep up with writing things down I want us to remember. DH and I occasionally read back through a few entries and always laugh (with bittersweet tears in our eyes).

I have 49 typed pages worth of journal entries on Connor, LOL! Every month is documented and every cute new thing. I email it to myself every time I update it just so I never lose it. I enter a new entry after I've emailed family so I just copy and paste! :)

In fact, I just read over his first few months of doctor's visits and new things he did when was just 3 months old! I hope I look back on this when I'm a grandma and can relate it to my grandkids. I also keep track of what toys he liked best at what stage so I can give appropriate type toys to the grandkids. Anal, Deanna, just like you!!

I was better with the first one, than I was with the second one! LOL!

Same here Dawn, with the picture taking and everything. My ds i was going through a box looking for my checks and his first year calendar was in there plastic still on it he said who's is this mines, I said no and made up something, but felt bad about fibbing to him. I just don't have the time like I had with my daughter but I have to make it somewhere, One day he even said to me why we not lotsa picture me? and he was only 2 then. My daughter has pictures for every holiday, every month she aged until she turnd one then one every year until she was about 5 still having a picture done for every holiday.

I was thinking the same thing. With four kids, good luck with that. I am no good at keeping track of all of the special things. However, our kids know the major baby stories and they love to share them with everyone. They do a lot of "Mom, remember when?". Talking keeps the memories fresh for them.

Heidi, have fun keeping track. I am sure Connor will cherish the fast you took the time to make a life journal for him.

I won't forget the Pink Pocahontas panties story, anytime soon, though. LOL! It involved poop and a lot of alliteration! It is the second child's story, but too funny to forget! It's making me smile, just thinking about it.

He's also saying "daddy's big!" lately so I asked him, "Is mommy big?" (Loaded question but I just wondered what his response would be.)
He responded with a big grin, and head tilt, and said, "Nope! Mommy's boootiful!!"
Ha ha ha...Scott said he has "game" already!

He also opened the door for mommy the other day and said, "Mommy, you go!" His dad is a very good example of that. :) Made my heart melt!!!

By Dawnk777 on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 - 02:26 pm:

Can Connor teach my husband that skill? It drives me nuts, because I was taught as a kid, to hold doors open for people and DH is the worst offender for NOT doing that.

By Bellajoe on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 - 06:37 pm:

Heidi - "mommy's bootiful!" too cute!!! Love it!

My Joey does that when he is in a sweet mood. He holds the door open for me and says "ladies first!" how cute
