Poor sick baby...

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Poor sick baby...
By Jelygu on Friday, September 28, 2007 - 08:56 am:

Luke is so sick. For the past week or so, he has had a mild cold. A little bit of nose running, an occasional cough.

On Tuesday, he woke up from a nap with his eyes all stuck together with gunk. I made him an appointment at the dr's because I thought it was pink eye.

The dr said he didn't have pink eye, but gave us a prescription just in case. She said it was allergies.

Ok, so yesterday everything got progressively worse. His eyes were goopy and gross all day, and his cough became horrible. His eyes are glassy looking too, and he is having the worst time sleeping. Oh and he has a low grade fever.

It breaks my heart to see him feeling this bad, and there isn't anything else I can do. I have the humidifier in his room, I'm using the saline and nose sucker thing.

I'm about to call the doctor, just to see if there's anything I can do, and if they want to see him again.
Poor baby...

Poor baby! It is so heart breaking when they don't feel well. I hope he gets better soon!

I hope you get some answers. I would try and make the case for a sinus infection and get the poor baby and antibiotic.
I am so greatful that my kids' ped is not one of those "anti" antibiotic docs. My kids' generally start with a cold, but if it lasts more than ten days and seems to get worse, not better, then I know there's a secondary bacterial infection going on.
Hope he feels better soon!
Hugs,
Ame
