This year has been a very strange one for my kids. My oldest never gets sick. Yet he is now going in to week four of being under the weather. He's been to the doctor three times and has had two different prescriptions. (1st was to clear up slight pnemonia plus a double ear infection and the second was an inhaler for wheezing which came after the pnemonia). DS #2 has been running a fever for a week and is going to the doctor today. And DD is going to the doctor today as well as she has been running a fever since yesterday and is throwing up today. I just can't get these kids all healthy!

So what has been your experience lately? Has this year been any different in terms of the type or length of illness for you or your kids?

Same as usual here so far knock on wood lol. Sorry to hear your kiddo's aren't feeling well hope they get better really soon..

Knock on wood over here too LOL. Both my kids had a virus last month, not the stomach type. Basically both kids were coughing, runny noses etc.. But my son was running a fever for 3 days and we took him to the dr. They tested him for strep and the flu virus, both negative. Anyways, he was probably under the weather for about 10 days. Now, out of no where, I have the dreaded cough, but no other symptoms, and nobody else here is sick, go figure :)

My kids have also been very sick this year. We have been lucky to not have the throw up virus, but my dd who never runs a temp ran one for a whole week and no other syptoms, my middle kid has been ever so sick, he was just diagnosed with JRA, so they are attributing it to that, but he has had strep 5 times, a double ear infection (the first ear infection he has ever had), several bouts of coughing not feeling good...UGH!

Mel, as you know major sick germs here this year! We went from fluid in the ears, to a virus with throwing up and fever, to right after, a COLD! Ick! Then, DH and I got the cold. This is week #3 with someone sick! I always think it's this time of year. Plus, with the cool weather, we can't really air out the house. Since you've been able to do that though, who knows, huh?? It does seem like everyone is sick lately that I talk with! Something is up!

Jen's been sick a few times with stomach bugs or bad colds in the last few months. Considering she gets a flu shot every year, this is a bit much for her.

We have all been really sick this year. In fact, last week every one of us had the flu. My two boys are still worn down from it. It seems like we have been sick on and off since Christmas. It just lingers on. Dh has been pretty healthy, but I usually never get sick and I have had a very rough winter.

I felt bad because my oldest ds missed school all last week. My dh said that perfect attendance was long gone anyway!!

So far its been ok here...knock on wood! My DD's usually get hit with some pretty icky stuff each winter...but this year we made it through without any trips to the DR or ER!! My DS who is one had a fever for a few days accompanied by a cough and runny nose, but is better now.

This is the first year, in three years, that I haven't had to sleep at the hospital with one of my DD's with RSV. We made it through!!!
