An Update

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: An Update

First of all thanks so much for all the help and advice, we are making progress.

On sleeping

I have moved my 3 year olds nap time up to 12-12:30, he is locked in his room (I know mean) and has no stimulation; I wake him up at 2:30 and we now have no problems with bed times or nap times for that matter. I think my younger child is benefitting from the earlier nap time as well, although I don't wake him up unless it's getting close to 4 pm.

Potty Training

Is going really well, I think we have been at it 3 weeks now. He always pees in the toilet in a whole variety of ways; it's quite funny actually, sometimes he stands, sometimes forward facing and sometimes backwards. Whatever works! We are not totally there yet with number 2 some days we have success and others not. I find he will usually have a bm in his underwear if he's really into whatever the current activity like playing outside, I'm hoping this improves soon, it is no fun to clean up.

There are times when he is reluctant to pee but I persist and it pays off.

Can't say it's been easy, but it's so worth it.

Thanks again.

3 months from now this will all be mastered and you'll forget you ever went through it.
Glad things are going well.

3 MONTHS!!!! I'm not sure I'll make it. :) My little one who is 22 months wants to sit on the potty now, we do it just for fun, however, I think that maybe 3 months from now we might be starting on child number 2.

Thanks!
