With my work( at the library) I visit 2 nursing homes, more like assisted living, I always do a craft with the ladies. I am at a loss for an Augest craft! I have done ladybug pins this month and they were thrilled, so it can't be a pin again. If anyone has any ideas, I would be grateful, Thank you so much.

You can sew mini purses. Buy a roll of fake leather. Fold it in three, and cut the cover in a semi circle. You can put a piece of velcro to keep it closed. Make hole punches around the edges, and they can use it for anything thant won't fall through the holes.
Sorry if you can't understand this!
P.S. You can decorate it with puff-paint-maybe write their initials.

Hello...I am an Activity Director at a nursing home and I have an activity you may be interested in. Once a year I have a make up consultant come in and do makeovers for my ladies.I spruce up their hair a bit and I borrow old fancy hats (like from 40's), fancy scarves, pins, and other jewelry from people that I know and I take their pictures.I use an old projector screen and I cover it with material to make different colored backdrops. I use a camera/dock so they can have their photos right away. The ladies have so much fun "dressing up". The scarves can cover what ever they are wearing so they don't have to change their clothes.

My mother-in-law was in an assisted living center prior to her death. She really enjoyed the crafts. She especially loved making door wreaths and door hangers for her front door. One month was Easter eggs, Christmas colors, Autumn leaves, or pictures. Her favorite was a paper plate wreath with pictures of her grandchildren. Others in the living center did pictures of their friends in the center or of themselves. They added ribbon or fabric for extra texture and colors. I hope this helps. Good luck.
