Does anyone know if Sharpie markers are ok to use in scrapbooking?

By Kaye on Thursday, December 8, 2005 - 02:58 pm:

no, they are not acid free, they will yellow all the way through the pages and affect what is on the other side.

Ok, Thank you. What a bummer for me I just got a huge color pack of them. I swear there is every color you can think of. They will be handy for stamping and making cards and stationary though.
Thanks again!

Yep they will work great for that, plus I just love my sharpies anyway. One of my kids favorite things to do is make salt dough ornaments, then we paint with acrylic paint (cheap apple barrel stuff) then they add details with sharpies.

Ooo sounds fun. Do you have the recipe for your salt dough?

this has lots of ideas. What i do is just roll out and cut with regular cookie cutters, like flat christmas trees, angels, stars, etc. I personally look for something that can be painted a solid color, like a GREEN TREE and then decorate. Just make sure you poke the hole prior to baking or you can't hang them.

Thanks! I'll check it out.
