serveware.
Although the amount of place settings and serving pieces may seem
enormous for formal dinnerware, it helps to keep in mind that they can
be purchased over time and not all at once.
Since dinnerware will be used for years to come, it may be best to
research a bit and weigh the possibilities beforehand so as not to be
'stuck' with a color or style that becomes unbearable after a few
weeks or months. Also, inquire if and when the pattern will be
retired by the manufacturer and if retired pieces will be available by
request. After purchase always register your pattern with the
manufacturer to be notified of upcoming or planned changes. When
considering dinnerware, it may be helpful to think over: family size,
type of entertaining (formal sit down or buffet), dishwasher &
microwave safe, personal or family preferences, overall needs &
budget of the household and other aspects specific to your situation.
Families with young children will also wish to take into account if
the dinnerware holds up well, is dishwasher safe and has replacement
