Mother's Day

Moms View Message Board: Short Stories, Poetry and Articles : Mother's Day
By Heaventree on Thursday, April 14, 2005 - 10:36 am:

Mother's day is fast approaching and I just wanted to share a poem I found and included in my MIL's card a few years ago. It was a big hit!

To My Other Mother
You are the other Mother I received,
The day I wed your son.
And I want to thank you Mom,
For the loving things you've done.
You've given me a gracious Man,
With whom I share my life.
You are his lovely Mother,
And I his lucky Wife.
You used to pat his little head,
And now I hold his hand.
You raised in love a little boy,
And then gave me the Man.
Happy Mother’s Day

Thank you soooo much for posting this. I have been looking for this poem for about 3 years now. I saw it at the mall on a frame and wanted to buy it for her, but when I went back to get it, they were all gone. You really made my day:).

That's a nice poem, Wouldn't work for my MIL.
Do you have a poem for MIL's from h---! LOL

Now, now Barb. Your too funny! If I find one I'll let you know, maybe you should consider sending her this poem maybe she might just "fall over" in surprise! If you catch my drift :).

Ha! I am with Barb..find me a truthful poem.
Maybe it would go something like...

Thank you
for your son
who is wonderful
in spite of all you have done
Thank you
for the loving man
who is my husband
even though you do all you can
to ruin
our relationship
he loves me more
and as to you--he doesn't give a flip....
:)

PS..all kidding aside... For those of you that have great relationships with your mother-in-laws you are very LUCKY!
