Going to Vegas, question...

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive May 2007: Going to Vegas, question...
By Bellajoe on Monday, May 7, 2007 - 03:38 pm:

We are going to Vegas in a few weeks. We are going to see Cirque Du Soleil "O". My sister and I are trying to figure out what to wear for this. Has anyone seen it? Does anyone have any idea what we should pack to wear for that night?

Any other "packing for Vegas" suggestions are welcome too.

Neither of us have ever been there before. My dh has but you know men, they just pack a few shirts and shorts and they are set.
TIA

Patti, let me know how Cirque is!!!! I wonder how long it will be playing? I am going to Vegas for the first time NEXT March. Have fun!

I saw it in February!!! It is an awesome show. It is the best show we've seen there. I wore some wide leg black dress pants, with a dressy top and heels. During the day I wore casual clothes, then at night I got dressed up. I don't get dressed up that often at home, so it was fun. I wore dress pants, nice tops and heels, and nice jeans, with jackets and boots. But, it was cool at night when we went. I don't know how it is now.

It will be hot, hot, hot in a few weeks! So, be sure to pack things that will keep you cool. :) We usually go for a week in July, and it's blazing hot, even at night.

I've been there a few times. It should be hot!
I think "O" is still at the Bellagio?? Nice hotel. Beautiful. Go early and look around. (Or are you staying there??)

Vegas is very casual during the day and the place to go all out at night. Never to dressed up or dressed down.

We think we are going in July. I can't wait.
Where are you staying?????

Seriously, Vegas is the one place I don't worry about clothes. You just want to be comfortable. Lots of walking.

I agree with Dancermom on this one. You will see everything in Vegas and no matter what you wear, you will fit right in. You will see some people at the shows dressed to the nines and some in jeans and t-shirts. Anything goes in Vegas!! Wear what you want and what is comfortable and cool as it is HOT!!

Great! I kind of figured that anything would work since a lot of people don't dress up for anything anymore. I like dressing up though.

We are actually staying at a timeshare condo. I think it's a Hilton type place and it's behind the Flamingo. We get to use the Flamingo's pool.
Yes, i believe it's at the Bellagio which I think is across the street from our place.
We are not big gamblers. We plan to do a lot of just walking around and looking at the hotels/casinos.
We are renting a car one day ang going to Red Rock Canyon which sounds and looks really pretty.

Thanks for all your help

Patti,

You will have a great time!! Dh and I aren't big gamblers either. We went for a walk each morning. It was great exercise, and the strip is not crowded in the mornings. It was fun to check out all the hotels. Make sure you take comfortable shoes for all the walking. We went to a couple of shows, and went shopping. It was nice to go out and eat and just relax. We gambled just a little each day. Have fun!! And, if you do plan on going to a nice restraunt, check the dress code, some won't let you wear shorts, etc. Dh took me to dinner at a restraunt in Bellagio before the "O" show. It was for our anniversary. Men had to wear jackets.

Not big gamblers here either.
We play penny and nickel slots mostly.
I would love to do the Red Rock Canyon someday. It just looks beautiful. They also do helicoptors tours of it.
Have fun!
