I found this article that details a few good programs...[url=http://www.consumersearch.com/www/software/parental-control-software/review.html[Parental Control software[/url]

The article also mentions and reccomends some free programs. Take the time to read the article and find out which program sounds best to you. It mentions Naomi which is a free and reputable program you can download here...http://www.naomifilter.org/

All of the programs mentioned by the article can likely be downloaded from Download.com. It's a reputable site with links to the publishers site where you can buy and download programs without worrying.

Most Internet filters focus on protecting children from obscene content. They typically let you specify only sites to be blocked. All other sites are allowed.

But some filters can also let you do the opposite. You can specify sites that you want. All other sites are blocked. A few of these include Child Web Guardian, Bsafe Online, and Safe Eyes.

I got this info from a Website that I trust implicitly that is owned by a lady who does a talk radio show all about the Internet and technology. She is very trustworthy and careful about which sites and software she recommends to her listeners. Here is a column she wrote (which also appears on USA Today.com) regarding Internet safety.

Protecting your children online

Best of luck.

Actually Anon, I never assumed that you had questionable content coming into your home. Your question is actually quite common.

In addition, if you haven't been here in a long time, you probably didn't know that in the recent past some have misused the anonymous feature, and the moderators here are doing their job as set forth by the owners of this Website to make sure that no one abuses the privileges of posting here.

If it weren't for the moderators, this Site would just be another place on the Net throw trash at eachother without repercussions, as if there aren't enough of those already. I am sure that Ginny didn't mean any offense. This actually is still a very nice place to come for advice, as you have found several members willing to take the time to offer their knowledge and advice without even knowing who you are.
