I suggest you do a search of agencies in your area, meaning large cities near you. Call them and ask if they are accepting plus size models, in your age range. You will need a head shot (generally black and white) and a portfolio, 5 to 10 snapshots of you modeling different fashions (full body shots, color and black and white), to take with you. They will want to see pictures at your meeting. Also when you go you want to dress trendy for your age but in a modest manner and you also want to go as fresh faced (little make up) as you can (they like to see you as natural as possible, like a clean slate). If you have no agencies in your area, you can mail your head shot to agencies out of your area that do use plus size models with a cover letter explaining your interest in the fashion industry and your want to be a model. You want to make sure you have a GOOD head shot because this is their first impression of you and your foot in the door...

Another suggestion would be to read up on trends, once again for your age range. Trends, meaning hair, make up and clothing styles for your body type. You don't want a head shot at 30 dressed like you are 18 with make up like you are 50 and a hair style from the 80's.. KWIM..
Those things are also going to be your foot in the door.

I say if you have the face for it, then there is no shame in it and you should go for it.. I would love to see you (who ever you are) in the pages of a magazine or on a TV commercial.. LOL GO FOR IT!!!

I would be interested to hear how this goes for you. I hear it's a tough thing to get into (any type of modeling) and I hope the best for you!!! :) Good luck!

Sorry I am no help.
