Nintendo wii, anyone have one??

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive January 2007: Nintendo wii, anyone have one??

I was able to get one today, I couldn't believe it! It will be for my kids birthdays. And we can use the gamecube games that we have in it so we don't have to get rid of them. We had an opportunity to play one when our friends brought theirs over, and the sports games were so much fun. We haven't given it to our dks yet because we need another nunchuck and remote control. Just wondering if anyone else had one and if they liked it!

I have only seen the demo video, at the store. It looked cool, though.

We have one and LOVE it. Actually we hosted part of a new years party and all the adults ended up playing it.

I enjoy the sports game, one son LOVES total rampage, you are king kong and go "destroy" buildings, it is all about stomping on them and knocking them down, it was a cheap game, but well worth the 20 dollars.

Have fun. My kids have been grounded from it for 3 weeks now, I can't wait to play again!

We have one too, and love it. :)

My one piece of advice is to either make sure you have an ample supply of batteries for the wii remotes or buy rechargeable batteries. You will definitely need them!

Enjoy it!

Wii love ours! Ditto on the batteries (my younger boys have a Wii, and their college-age brother has one, and at four Wiimotes each, we go through a LOT of batteries! WELL worth it, though. We have never been disappointed in a Nintendo product yet! The kids love Zelda, Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz and Rayman Raving Rabbits(sp?)...it's GREAT to see them UP OFF THE COUCH ;)

My youngest ds was able to get one about a week ago. He was so excited. He put it downstairs so anybody could play it. I bought MarioParty8 for dd and her friends to play. But it was so cute to see her (she's 6) and the brother (he's 22) that bought it sitting in the floor playing it. He's a gamer so he's good at these things and he was trying to show his little sister how to do stuff. It was such a cute game and I loved the Practice before you do your real thing for points. But I mostly loved watching them laugh together and hug each other when dd did well.

Dh was telling me about an article he read where some parents bought their kid one. He lost 15 lbs in 4 months just from playing the Wii instead of regular video games. Frankly, I still think the kid is playing too many video games, but at least his muscles are turning to mush any more.

We love our's. I like that the kids are moving around instead of sitting on their tushes and I like playing with them. We have a group of friends that we get together with a few times each month and all the guys end up begging the kids for a turn with the remotes. It's been a great investment and my dks love having one now that they aren't being sold in CA. We're one of the only families in this area to have one.

Wii isn't sold in CA? What's up with that?

Ds wants a Wii, and I think we should have gotten the Wii for him last Christmas instead of the XBox360. He has been playing the Wii at a friend's house and he actually LIKES the sports games. They are so much more fun than the sit-down versions on regular systems.
