Anybody want to try something new?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive January 2007: Anybody want to try something new?

I tried this new granola snack called Bear Naked and I love it!

I was watching Food Network a couple of weeks ago and on Recipe for Success they featured a guy and a gal who have partnered up in a business making a healthy granola snack. She made up the recipe for soft baked granola, seeds, oats, nuts, and fruit at home when she was just a kid, and her friends loved it so much they said she should start selling it, so eventually she did. But then she ran into a guy she graduated high school with and he took over the business side. Now they are a 12 million dollar business and they're both still in their 20's!

I have been looking for a healthy snack. I do not like granola bars that you buy in the store, and bran flakes get boring. I figured that if this stuff was selling and the business was growing, it had to taste good. This stuff can be eaten by hand, mixed with yogurt, or as a cold cereal. They also make a hot cereal. They have several flavors.

Check it out here: http://www.bearnaked.com/products.htm

You can also watch the Food Network show that I saw here: http://www.bearnaked.com/mediaroom/fn_part1.htm
(be patient- it takes a while to load)

You can also use the Website to check if there are any stores in your area that sell it, but if not, you can order it online, too.

That's what we buy...interesting story behind it, I had no idea.

What we do with it, we mix it into peanut butter and add craisins, then serve with apples, OH SO GOOD!

We LOVE the Bearnaked products! We snack on them a lot and take them with us when we travel. Target sells some of the products.

Bummer. These are a no-no in our house due to severe nut allergies. :(

I'm sorry, Trina. :(

I've never heard of those. I'll have to look for them next time i'm in Target.

I get so jealous when i hear that people think stuff up, create and sell it and become millionaires. I'm always thinking "but i want to be a millionaire (in a whiny tone)" :) LOL

My dh and i are always trying to think of something to invent to make money. we never come up with anything good though.

LOL Patti! They aren't millionaires yet, but they might be well on their way.

Trina, I thought about the peanut allergy, since ds has a friend who has that allergy, too. (One time I didn't know it and told my son he could take a package of peanut m&ms over to give to him for Halloween. His dad gave them back to me and told me. OOOPPS!)

I emailed the company and asked if a peanut-free product was in the future. I realize it would have to be processed in a totally separate facility, so maybe not. But then, if there is a demand, maybe so.
