Gas Prices

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive January 2007: Gas Prices
By Dawnk777 on Friday, January 19, 2007 - 09:18 am:

One gas station, on the way to school this morning, was $1.99/gallon! woohoo

All the others we saw, were $2.03.

Diesel was down too, to $2.51, making DH happy. We have a diesel Passat.

This is the best that gas prices have been, since Katrina!

By Cocoabutter on Friday, January 19, 2007 - 09:23 am:

We just hit $1.94 by my house! :)

By Tonya on Friday, January 19, 2007 - 09:41 am:

I filled up this morning for $1.74

By Bobbie~moderatr on Friday, January 19, 2007 - 09:42 am:

It was $1.96 here yesterday. With my discount at Krogers, DH paid $1.68 for gas, he was a happy camper..

By Tink on Friday, January 19, 2007 - 10:18 am:

Holy cow! I can't imagine seeing prices under $2. I just checked Gas Buddy and our cheapest local gas is $2.43. *sigh* I'm so jealous.

The HEB supermarket next door to my office has it for 1.99 (I'm in Texas)

Although, we could learn a lot from Brazil...they've been producing ethanol-reliant cars since the 1970's.

Brazil oil independence

By Debbie on Friday, January 19, 2007 - 01:00 pm:

I paid $1.85 yesterday!

By Reds9298 on Friday, January 19, 2007 - 02:08 pm:

$1.85 here, too. What a nice surprise!

By Enchens on Friday, January 19, 2007 - 02:10 pm:

I'm sighing with you, Cori.

By Bellajoe on Friday, January 19, 2007 - 02:28 pm:

I filled up at $1.99 yesterday! :) I can't believe we are happy to be paying in the upper $1.00's for gas, that's actually kind of depressing.

*sigh* i remember when it was under $1.00 :(

Our local grocery store (Giant Eagle) gives us *fuelperks*. We probably pay out the nose for groceries, but end up getting a break on their gas. For ever $50 we spend at the grocery store, we get 10-20 cents off a gallon. Spending $50 at our grocery store is easy to do. I save up my fuelperks bucks and end up getting a whole tank of gas for free, or at least very close to free.

I hate the store, they really hike up the prices, but we have no other choice. We used to have Tops (which i didn't like either) but Tops closed.

Does any one else have a grocery store that has the gas thing like mine does?

By Sandysmom on Friday, January 19, 2007 - 02:55 pm:

I paid 2.33 a gallon yesterday and 10 miles up the road it was 2.17 a gallon.

By Jackie on Friday, January 19, 2007 - 03:06 pm:

The gas station by my house was $2.07

By Bobbie~moderatr on Friday, January 19, 2007 - 03:17 pm:

Bellajoe, I think most of the grocery stores around here with gas give some kind of "bonus" for using their stores. Even some of our chain gas stations do..

By Cocoabutter on Friday, January 19, 2007 - 03:29 pm:

UGH! Our prices just reset to $2.05 today. Apparently Speedway, which sets the prices in our area, can't handle prices getting too low, especially below $2.

By Breann on Friday, January 19, 2007 - 08:05 pm:

$2.39 for me today.

I haven't actually seen anything under $2.00 for a looooong time.
