I just received the official document saying that he is "Honorably Discharged from the Army"!!!!! I was really nervous about opening it though because the last piece of official mail we received told us that he was being deployed. I was afraid that they were telling us he was being stop-lossed or extending his duty out in Afghanistan.

He still has to finish out his time until April, but it means that they cannot redeploy him...EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm crying...again...the army has a wonderful way of sending mail right when Aunt Flo comes so I cry twice as hard.

Wanda, it was totally unexpected...especially since his brother was in the middle of a stop-loss, which means they won't let him out of the army.
Although, Scott did his active 4 yrs and then IRR whereas his brother just ducked out after college and they had to hunt him down to join the reserves. So, maybe that's there way of "punishing" his brother for not doing enough reserve time...I'm not sure.

Trina, I AM framing it!!! And, I made a digital copy of it so Scott can read it when he opens his email tomorrow!! I called his brother and he didn't believe me so I'm emailing it to him too!

And, Kaye and Heaven, I wish it were the reason those guys were calling. They wouldn't have apologized for calling in that instance. They would have just explained it to me over the phone if that were the case. The army is SO disorganized!!!

I'm SO excited to email Scott with his certificate!!!
